CNC Sliding Headstock Automats - Ace Designers’ SHA 20 Magna

Ace Designers, the largest producer of CNC lathes in India, has introduced SHA 20 Magna, a Sliding Headstock Automat. Sliding Headstock Automats or SHAs have proven their applications for components in high-volume production of small sizes with turning and milling operations done in a single set-up and without human intervention.

SHA 20 Magna is designed specifically to bring high productivity in machining small-sized components. Input bar capacity is Dia20 mm and with the Rotary Guide Bush, the maximum length of the component is 200 mm. This machine is available in 5, 6, or 7 axes configuration which includes Y2 Axis. Equipped with a powerful and compact built-in motor for the main and sub-spindle with the oil-cooled headstock, this SHA model is capable of delivering high productivity at great precision. Automation with a bar feeder ensures high productivity.

Advantages of SHA 20 Magna

It features a compact B-axis assembly with a 3+3 radial plug-in tool, enabling the performance of radial and angular drilling milling operations. The machine supports 3 and 4 axes simultaneous interpolation, facilitating the machining of complex parts. Equipped with a compact Y2 axis, the SHA 20 Magna includes 4 live and 4 stationary tools for sub-spindle operations. The option for both guide bush and guide bush-less configurations is provided as a standard feature.

The operator panel system is specially designed with a swinging option at an offset to assist the operator during tool setting. Simultaneous machining is supported in both the main and sub-spindle, contributing to a reduction in cycle time. Deep hole drilling is made standard by mounting the tool holder beside the sub-spindle. As an option, the SHA 20 Magna can be equipped with 2 sub-spindle-driven live tools for enhanced functionality.
