Danfoss India, in a strategic partnership with the engineering firm PowerNEU, announced the launch of Danfoss PowerNEU Pvt Ltd, a first-of-its-kind joint venture designed to support India’s metals and heavy industries through a locally embedded execution and solutions model. The venture was formally inaugurated with a groundbreaking ceremony for a new manufacturing facility and office in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
The establishment of Danfoss PowerNEU marks a significant milestone in Danfoss’s long-term commitment to India, strengthening its ability to deliver advanced technologies and decarbonization solutions closer to industry end-users. Located in India’s steel heartland, the Jamshedpur facility is positioned to serve major steel and metals producers across Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and neighboring industrial regions. The joint venture is structured as a long-term platform to scale decarbonization solutions across India’s metals and heavy industry ecosystem.
The facility will enable solution development closer to customers, supported by 24x7 connectivity and rapid on-site response. This customer-centric approach is designed to improve speed of execution, deepen collaboration, and deliver solutions tailored to real plant conditions, driving measurable outcomes across energy efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
Once fully operational, the integrated setup will offer a one-stop solution encompassing design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance for complex and process-intensive industrial applications, aligned with Danfoss standards. The facility will deliver products and solutions from across the Danfoss portfolio, including Danfoss Power Drives, Danfoss Climate Solutions, and Danfoss Power Solutions, under a single roof.
The site will also house a dedicated Experience Centre focused on next-generation decarbonization technologies across power electronics, climate control, and hydraulics. The Experience Centre will support customer engagement through hands-on training, technology demonstrations, and capability development, enabling long-term value creation for customers and partners.
As industries accelerate their decarbonization efforts, energy efficiency is emerging as a critical lever for both sustainability and growth. With about 53 percent of the global energy expected to be lost as waste heat by 2030 and green steel demand in India set to rise to 4.49 million tonnes by FY30, Danfoss India sees decarbonization not just as a climate imperative but as a major growth opportunity, enabled through technologies that reduce energy use, cut emissions, and lower operating costs.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India, said, “India’s metals and heavy industries are at a pivotal stage where growth must align with sustainability. Danfoss PowerNEU reflects our long-term commitment to India by combining global decarbonization expertise with strong local execution. The Jamshedpur facility reinforces the strategic importance of Eastern India as the country’s steel heartland.”
Mandar Vaijanapurkar, Head - Drives Sales, Marketing & Services, Danfoss India, commented, “The formation of Danfoss PowerNEU is a strategic step to accelerate decarbonization in India’s core industries. The Centre of Excellence in Jamshedpur will be a core pillar of Danfoss PowerNEU’s execution model.
