Kratzer GmbH & Co. KG has equipped its new production hall with JUNKER JUMAT 3000. It uses the three spindle JUMAT 3000/60 cylindrical grinding machine to manufacture extraordinarily complex workpieces for dual-clutch high-performance gearboxes for sports cars. Furthermore, the project and process planning carried out by JUNKER‘s grinding experts was also an important selling point. 

The dual-clutch gearboxes for sports cars have to meet the highest standards and therefore require extremely tight tolerances. The grinding machine concept has been precisely tailored to such requirements, carrying out flexible grinding operations with extreme precision. In addition to producing small batches of different dual-clutch components, the gear components are ground in batch sizes of around 3000 pieces. JUNKER from the start, includes the retooling required between the different workpieces in the process development and eventually reduced to a minimum. 

“The old machine has to be retooled several times a week; with the JUMAT, we have found a flexible cylindrical grinding machine that covers these many different grinding operations with reduced tooling time,” explained Florian Kratzer, Managing Director, Kratzer GmbH & Co.
