Schwing Stetter India’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Kicks Off with Planting 2,50,000 Trees Globally

Schwing Stetter India, one of the country’s leading construction and concreting equipment manufacturer, initiated its sustainability campaign, #GoGreenwithSchwing, with the aim of planting 2,50,000 trees globally by 2023. This initiative is a significant part of their ongoing 25th-anniversary celebrations of the company’s presence in India. Starting from two locations in India: Irungattukottai (Tamil Nadu) and Guwahati (Assam), this green drive will span across the entire country, including areas where significant infrastructure projects have been successfully implemented.

#GoGreewithSchwing initiative began with the Irungattukottai tree plantation drive, officiated by VG Sakthikumar, Managing Director, Schwing Stetter India, planting a total of 30,000 tree saplings. The Assam Chapter of Plantation drive, officiated by the Chief Guests, Arup Kumar Mishra, Chairman, Pollution Control Board, Assam, and Jadav Payeng, ‘The Forest Man of India’, planted the initial saplings, marking the commencement of the tree plantation campaign in Guwahati, Assam.

As a pioneering force in the infra development Sector, Schwing has made efforts in reshaping the country’s progress with its state-of-the-art concrete and construction machinery. The company has embraced a deep-seated commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. They have dedicated efforts towards green energy adoption and have significantly reduced its carbon footprint. With #GoGreenwithSchwing, the company has taken an initiative to promote reforestation and reduce the carbon footprint by involving multiple stakeholders, including employees, customers, business partners, and dealers. Schwing Stetter India aims to achieve the target of planting 2,50,000 saplings globally by 2023. On August 3 and 4, 2023, a total of 75,000+ saplings are to be planted in Irungattukottai and Guwahati, on behalf of the company. The remaining saplings will be planted at various locations in a phased manner, by 2023.

On the occasion, Sakthikumar said, “As we embark on this incredible journey of turning 25 years, we want to continue to engage in activities that reflect our commitment to sustainability and the environment. We are aiming to sow the seeds of a greener, more sustainable future. In this journey, we are deeply grateful to Young India volunteers who tirelessly work for ‘Climate change’, as well as CII and BAI; for extending their support for this noble cause in various states across India.”
