The company, based out of Bangalore, started as an engineering design company in 1981 and its manufacturing activities in 1983. Over the last four decades, it has successfully designed and built a wide range of machines to cater to the diverse needs of various industry segments. To date, Taurus has in its stable nearly 1,100 varieties of SPM machines and has become a pioneer in SPM building. The company’s core focus is on custom-built machines, many of which have been import substitution machines.

In the year 2018, Taurus was acquired by Ace Designers Ltd, the flagship company of the largest machine tool company in India, the Ace Micromatic Group. The company has supplied machines to the biggest names in the engineering and automotive industry in India.
