ACMEE 2023: India’s Exhibition On Machine Tools Focus on Smart Manufacturing


Organized by Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association (AIEMA), ACMEE 2023 will be held at Chennai Trade Centre from June 15-19, 2023. The event, in its 15th edition, focuses on the latest in machine tools technology with an aim to help the industry modernize and promote investment in the country.

The show will be inaugurated by Thiru R N Ravi, Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu. Satyakam Arya, Managing Director & CEO, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd, and Satish Sadasivan, Managing Director, Schunk Intec India Pvt Ltd, are the Guests of Honor.  

The objective of ACMEE 2023 is to provide an opportunity for industry to see the latest in machine tools and manufacturing technology from all over the world. The theme for ACMEE 2023 is ‘Smart Manufacturing’ and is being organized in a dynamic environment in India – Emphasis on Infrastructure, industrial growth, modernization, overall investment.

Smart Manufacturing is a combination of various technologies and solutions, including artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, cyber security, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and block chain, that are implemented into a manufacturing ecosystem to optimize manufacturing processes by generating and/or accepting data. The focus is on the use of information technology in machinery to monitor production processes, automate manufacturing, and use data analytics to improve manufacturing processes.

K Sai Sathya Kumar, Chairman, ACMEE 2023, stated in this regard, “We are conducting ACMEE 2023 in a business climate that is bound to result in strong interest from industry. This exhibition will enable entrepreneurs to see the latest in machine tools and production technology from all over the world and help their efforts to move towards Smart Manufacturing, adopt smart solutions, and contribute directly to the Make in India campaign. There will be live demonstrations, product launches, and technical sessions that will help our industrialists get exposed to the possibilities in the market.”

ACMEE 2023 is expected to have 435 participants in a net exhibition area of 11,000 sq mt uare meters, spread across seven halls, featuring 105 international brands.

The Ministry of MSME, Govt of India, has approved ACMEE 2023 for extending financial support to participating MSMEs, and the event is expected to generate business worth INR 650 crore, as per Kumar.

The ‘International Buyers - ACMEE 2023 Exhibitors Meet’ will also be organized concurrently with ACMEE 2023 on June 16-17, 2023, which will be coordinated by EEPC India and supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Govt of India. The growth of ACMEE as an event is reflected in the increasing numbers across the years in terms of participating countries, firms, visitors, and volume of business conducted.


“We will set up a Finance Lounge where there will be a number of major financial institutions participating to help businesses obtain finance for their purchases at the event. They are Electronica Finance Ltd, Ezlease Ventures Pvt Ltd, ICICI Bank Ltd, Indian Bank, SIDBI, Siemens Finance Service, South Indian Bank Ltd, and Sundaram Finance Ltd,” added Kumar.
