ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), a joint venture between two of the world’s leading steel companies - ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, was honoured with the coveted ‘Greentech Safety Excellence Award 2020’ for ‘Outstanding Achievements in Safety Excellence’ category for its Pune facility. The facility outscored across 16 award parameters including, Zero Reported Accidents during the year, Management of Fall Protection and Confined Space Entry, and the COVID 19 mitigation response, to name a few.
In its 19th annual event, the Greentech Safety Awards honoured exemplary initiatives that provided a comprehensive look at exceptional instances and achievements of reducing incidents and accidents at workplaces. The awards aim to continue promoting improvements in workplace safety, encourage workplace safety management and recognize workplace safety as an ethical responsibility to both employer and employees.
AM/NS India’s Pune facility was adjudged the winner among several industry majors, including public sector undertakings. G Jaya Prakash, Head – HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment), AM/NS India (Pune facility), received the award from Kamleshwar Sharan, Chairman and CEO, Greentech Foundation, during the recently held OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) summit in Chennai.
