Erwin Junker Maschinenfabrik GmbH received a silver medal from EcoVadis, an internationally recognized and independent sustainability assessment platform. The award recognizes JUNKER’s responsible conduct in the areas of environment, labor practices, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
EcoVadis analyzed many purchasing categories and evaluated companies according to 21 indicators with regard to environmental protection, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. JUNKER provided EcoVadis with the CSR data on a wide range of activities in these categories. These criteria are based on international CSR standards such as the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the ISO 26000 standard, the CERES principles, and the UN guiding principles for business and human rights. In parallel, EcoVadis carried out a 360-degree audit based on external information.
JUNKER’s total score of 60 points is well above the industry average of 42. This score makes JUNKER one of the top 25% of companies rated by EcoVadis so far. This award validates JUNKER's longstanding commitment to sustainability and recognizes the long-pursued philosophy in the areas of economy, social affairs, and the environment. At the same time, the award is an incentive for JUNKER to continue to improve in all CSR areas and to strive for the gold medal for the coming year.
