TFC 800 4S, Taurus Facing & Centering Machine

Facing & Centering is typically done on bar stock or cylindrical castings or forgings to ensure accurate length control and perfect alignment of centres for further operations.

TFC 800 4S machine caters to a wide range of jobs from Ø25 mm to Ø100 mm and lengths from 250 mm to 800 mm. The machine can accommodate a maximum Ø100 mm for Face milling using a BT50 spindle. The machine has 4 spindles driven by Induction Spindle Motors with VFD for each Motor. Accuracy is determined by precision LM Guideways & Ball screws for precision Axes Movements.

Length control after machining on this machine will be within +/- 0.025 mm and a face run-out on the machined surfaces to within 0.020 mm. Depth Accuracy after Centring will be +/- 0.015mm.

Facing & Centring commonly find application in components like Round Bars, Shafts, Spindles, Crankshafts, Camshafts, Transmission Shafts, Universal Joint Spiders, Tripods, Yokes etc.

If only facing operation needs to be done, then the same can be done on asymmetrical components also with the help of specially customized fixtures.

 

Machine Bed

Machine bed and structural elements are FEM optimized and duly stress relieved to provide superior long-term performance.

 

Spindle Heads

BT-type standard spindles with precision class angular contact bearings ensure rigidity and increase cutter life. BT spindle also allows common tool-holder standards across the shop floor thereby reducing inventory cost and maintenance of special tool Heads as used on low-cost machines.

 

Tooling

BT-type holders for center drills, face milling arbors, and face mills ensure rigid clamping free from vibration and thus increase tool life and improve surface finish.

 

CNC Control

Machine is with Fanuc control system. CNC control reduces cycle time and setup time to accommodate a large variety of parts on a single machine.

 

Automation-Friendly

The machine is supplied in automation-ready condition and can be integrated easily into Robot Cell/Gantry configurations along with the provision for automatic loading/ unloading via conveyor/pick & place mechanisms.

 

Other Options

The machine can be offered with other options like Chip Conveyor, Power Draw bar on 4 Spindles, Spindle Through Coolant, Auto Door, AC Spindle Motors, Bed Flushing Coolant System, Machine with Automatic Tool Changer, Higher Spindle Power, Customized Component Clamping Fixtures, Component Prove – Outs.
