Kirloskar Institute of Management (KIM) celebrated the convocation ceremony for graduating students of the class of 2024 at the Buntara Bhavana, Baner, Pune, recently. The convocation ceremony marked an important milestone in the lives of the graduating students. Graduands, along with their family members, faculty members, alumni, and esteemed guests, participated in the convocation and made the event a grand success. Sumit Mitra, Head, Group HR and Corporate Services, Godrej Industries Ltd and Human Resources, Godrej Consumers Products Ltd made his presence at the convocation ceremony as the Chief Guest. Rahul C Kirloskar, Executive Chairman, Kirloskar Pneumatic Co Ltd, and Member Governing Council, KIM, welcomed the graduands and declared the convocation open.
The podium was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Mitra; Aditi Kirloskar, Vice President, KIM; Dr Nandeesh Hiremath, Director, Harihar campus, KIM; Dr TG Vijaya, Director, Pune campus, KIM; Nagaraj Bevinmarad, Dean, Harihar campus, KIM; and Dr Bidyanand Jha, Dean, Pune campus, KIM.
Kirloskar and Mitra addressed the gathering along with alumnus student Nikhil Damle. The Executive Chairman shared his insights about India’s economic development, innovation, progress in the manufacturing sector, and the sustainable challenges in the present digital age. He extended congratulations to the graduands and the merit awardees of the class of 2024. On the other hand, Mitra addressed the gathering, imparted his real-life experiences, and advised graduands to concentrate on aspects such as self-awareness, the purpose of their studies, understanding their values, and having the will to take risks. He also stressed the significance of mentors in one’s life and the necessity of adapting to change. Damle, an alumnus of Harihar (1999-2001 batch), imparted insights into his professional journey and technological advancements.
In addition, Dr Hiremath and Dr Vijaya, presented the academic reports for their respective campuses. Some of the highlights of the reports includes curriculum revamp, infrastructure development, placements, admissions, faculty achievements, Managerial Development Programmes (MDPs), faculty publications, student publications, KIRIT 4.0 (a national-level real-time CASE analysis completion), and the new software procured during the academic year 2023-2024.
Graduates received their degree certificates, while the outstanding students were awarded silver and gold medals. Also, meritorious students across multiple areas such as Finance, Marketing, HRM, and Business Analytics were awarded medals. Shristi Bose, hailing from the Harihar campus, received the title of overall topper and was honored with the gold medal. Similarly, Diya Suthiv, representing the Pune campus, received the gold medal for being the overall topper. Furthermore, Aditi Kirloskar, Vice President, Kirloskar Institute of Management, praised and congratulated the graduates on their outstanding achievements.
