TKIL Industries Pvt Ltd, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, a premier institution of the Indian Army, for the installation of a Green Hydrogen Microgrid System with Fuel Cell Energy Storage at the CME campus. The initiative will leverage advanced technology from SoHHytec SA, based in Lausanne, Switzerland, and aims to demonstrate sustainable, resilient, and decentralized energy solutions for off-grid applications.
The MoU marks an important step in TKIL Industries’ commitment to sustainability, clean energy adoption, and nation-building through industry defence collaboration. The project is designed to integrate green hydrogen production, storage, and fuel cell-based power generation within a microgrid framework, enabling clean and reliable energy supply.
Vivek Bhatia, MD & CEO, TKIL Industries, said, “Our collaboration with the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune, marks an important step toward advancing sustainable and future-ready energy infrastructure for off-grid applications. At a time when global conversations around alternative fuels and energy security are gaining momentum, green hydrogen is emerging as a key enabler of resilient, decentralized, and low-carbon energy systems. Through this initiative, and by leveraging SoHHytec’s advanced technology, we aim to demonstrate the potential of next-generation hydrogen solutions for off-grid infrastructure.”
Suresh Agasthi, Head – Green Hydrogen, TKIL Industries, stated, “Our collaboration with CME Pune reflects TKIL Industries’ growing focus on building future-ready clean energy solutions across off-grid and industrial applications. The project brings together green hydrogen production, fuel cell storage, and microgrid integration to demonstrate how decentralized energy systems can support resilient and sustainable infrastructure while advancing India’s transition towards alternative fuels and cleaner energy technologies.”
Under the collaboration, TKIL Industries will facilitate the installation of the green hydrogen microgrid system at CME, incorporating SoHHytec’s solar-driven hydrogen production technology. The integrated solution combines renewable energy generation, hydrogen production, and fuel cell-based energy storage, enabling efficient and self-sustaining power systems that reduce dependence on conventional energy sources.
Spokesperson from College of Military Engineering, Pune commented, “The green hydrogen microgrid at CME will serve as a critical platform for undertaking research and feasibility study. It aligns with our focus on providing future-ready energy solutions for defence infrastructure.”
CME will utilize the project as a live demonstration and research platform to study hydrogen-based energy systems and microgrid applications. The initiative is expected to promote applied research and offer hands-on exposure to future engineers and defence personnel in emerging clean energy technologies.
The integration of SoHHytec’s next-generation hydrogen technology is expected to showcase the efficiency, scalability, and sustainability of solar-driven hydrogen energy systems. The project also supports India’s broader clean energy and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ objectives by enabling indigenous capability development and reducing dependence on conventional fuels.
This collaboration underscores a shared vision between industry and defence institutions to foster environmental responsibility and advancement in emerging energy systems while building resilient infrastructure for the future.
