WFL Combines Features of Gear Manufacturing Through InvoMilling

Austrian based WFL Millturn Technologies GmbH & Co. KG, combines the most important features of gear manufacturing through InvoMilling^TM in X. These include the very high demands on accuracy and quality, cost-effectiveness and  ease of operation. It is a disc-shaped milling cutter tool that creates the tooth flank in a turning-milling process. This cutter can be used to produce different gear sizes, ensuring highest flexibility.

The traverse path of the Y-axis often represents a restriction of the maximum diameter of the gearing. InvoMillingTM tools with large overhang are necessary for large gear diameters up to 1000mm and more. For external gears with a large outside diameter, a new attachment head has been designed, which offers several advantages such as maximum tool stability, all thanks to a prism tool holder and a special tool arrangement. It is also possible for an automatic tool change from the pick-up magazine or by means of a prism tool changer. For helical workpieces, the InvoMillingTM cutter is swivelled to the appropriate inclination with the WFL U-axis.

The travel of this rotary axis is 360°. The rotary axis is clamped hydraulically for machining and hence offers optimum stability. Furthermore, a housing cooling with cooling lubricant guarantees excellent temperature stability. The progra-mming is done with its new programming software "WFL GearCam". This user-friendly software is available specially for spur & helical gears, herringbone gears, and bevel gears. In addition, contains many functions for different types of gearings (even in small batches) and can be configured individually.
