ZMM Gets Customer for its Lathe Machines in New Caledonia

ZMM - Bulgaria Holding AD, one of the largest industrial groups in Bulgaria, for the past 40 years, has produced and introduced a wide range of universal lathes to the international market. With a recent sale of a lathe CU500MTx1500 to a customer in New Caledonia, the company has broadened its reach in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. New Caledonia is situated 15,585 km from Bulgaria and 1210 km east of Australia in the Southern Hemisphere.

Universal lathes are intended for processing parts with rotationally symmetric external and internal surfaces. The lathes are designed in a continuous process of development & improvement which are particularly with diameters of up to Ø 1410mm and lengths up to 10m. ZMM’s additional accessories and equipment provide a much simpler and more precise processing of a certain machine part.

The universal lathes offer an array of advantages, especially in its Bed, Headstock, Large Apron, and Feed Gearbox. The heavy, high-ribbed, and rigid Bed casting is made from strong gray cast-iron which prevents any vibrations when the machine is correctly leveled and operated, in addition to the built-in gap bridge which can be removed for processing large work pieces. The stable, properly ribbed and accurately processed Headstock casting provides a non-vibrating and precise operation while lathe process parts in high speed or during heavy duty machining regime.

The Lathe Apron offers mechanized transverse and longitudinal movements, with a built-in safety mechanism against overloading, as well as a locking device against simultaneous switching of the nut to the lead screw and automatic feeding. Furthermore, the Feed Gearbox provides various feedings and steps for threading – metric, inch, module, and DP threads, when processing a certain part.
