BOSCHERT's New CU-FLEX Compact Copper Machining Center

Boschert GmbH has developed the new CU-FLEX copper machining center, the end-to-end machining of copper parts in a single working process. It is outfitted with three individual stations: Cutting, Bending and Punching. Stations are arranged one after the other and are chosen by the control unit as required by the current machining program. The necessary station moves into the press unit, which has a press and  punching force of 40 tonnes. It makes it conceivable to cut, punch, and bend copper & aluminium of up to 15 mm thickness. With a width of 200 mm for the materials and even steel rails. The maximum bending height is 190 mm and 31.7 mm maximum punched diameter.

The machine is equipped with an automatic stop and allows the automatic punching and bending of the metal rails of up to a length of 1,000 mm (Y stop depth) trailed by cutting to the exact length required. Thus, it requires less staff and users obtain fully machined parts ready for installation. The CNC-controlled back-stop is moved and positioned at a speed of 10 mtrs/min and the linear station carrier at a speed of 6 mtrs/min. With the stroke speed of 10 mm/sec. The hydraulically, pneumatically, and electro-mechanically driven functions of the machine are programmed and controlled by the exceptionally adapted Cybelec CybTouch 12 CNC controller. This covers all the machine's functional & operating cycles and makes it possible to determine the straight length thanks to the graphical input of the dimensions and data.

It's a low-maintenance design with exceptionally long service life of the tools, since it is no longer necessary to adjust the cutting gap, and the high repeat accuracy (+/- 0.02 mm for the bending stroke) of bending and forming operations. In addition, the machine exceeds expectations through its compact design (L x W x H = 2,300 mm x 2,600 mm x 2,000 mm), its lightweight construction of only 3,200 kg for simple machine transportation, and its ready-for-use equipment, including tools.
