At a recently held press conference at The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai on December 5, 2025, key industry leaders, including Hubertus von Monschaw, Global Director, Deutsche Messe AG; C H Nadiger, Regional Director, EEPC India; and Geeta Bisht, CEO, Hannover Milano Fairs India Pvt Ltd, unveiled what’s in store in the upcoming Hannover Messe 2025.
Hannover Messe 2025, the world’s leading industrial trade fair, is scheduled for March 31 to April 4, 2025, at Exhibition Grounds Hannover, Germany. Bringing together over 4,000 companies in mechanical, electrical, digital, and energy industries, this exhibition is expected to present innovative solutions for a high-performance and sustainable industry. Its strategies for shaping the future with technology will focus on methods such as electrification, automation, and digitization that have the potential to deliver on climate neutrality across industries.
As the world pivots towards a sustainable and digital industrial sector, the competition between companies and nations is picking up pace. Taking this forward and in a central theme, Hannover Messe promises to address these megatrends. “We are at a historic crossroads,” explains Dr Jochen Köckler, Chairman, Managing Board, Deutsche Messe. “The current global environment is shaping what the industrial power structures will look like in the future. More investment is urgently needed in the digitalization, automation, and electrification of industry. Only in this way can competitiveness and sustainability be brought into alignment.”
Partner Country Championing Innovation
The Partner Country of the Hannover Messe 2025 is Canada under the theme ‘The future’s here’. This partnership was announced during Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in August 2022, underscoring the strong economic and political ties between the two nations. As François-Philippe Champagne, Canada's Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, puts it, “This is an opportunity for Canadian businesses to take center stage and demonstrate their innovation and solutions to accelerate industrial transformation. We are excited to continue international collaboration and showcase over 200 Canadian companies representing a future that is green, digital, and resilient.”
Hall 2’s Canada Pavilion will present the country’s science and innovation ecosystems, with extra pavilions focusing on AI, automation, clean tech, hydrogen, e-mobility, and robotics. In addition to providing networking opportunities, supplementing events include Canada Conference Stage in Hall 2, Canada-Germany Business Summit, Leaders’ Dialogue, EUREKA Global Innovation Summit (GIS), and Renewable Dialogue. Against this backdrop, Dr Köckler adds, “As a leader in AI, clean tech, and renewable energy, Canada aligns with our focus on digitalization and industrial transformation. This partnership highlights HANNOVER MESSE’s commitment to global progress, fostering cross-border connections for sustainable growth and innovation.”
Digital Ecosystems & Smart Manufacturing
Digital ecosystems will be an important focus of the exhibition. The Digital Ecosystems exhibition area at the event will offer visitors first-hand insights into digitally networked industries of the tomorrow. More than 600 companies will demonstrate cutting-edge applications in intelligent machine networking, supply chain digitalization, and AI-based business models. Leading exhibitors such as Accenture, Microsoft, Aleph Alpha, SAP, and more will demonstrate how these digital ecosystems work, both on their stands as well on Hannover Messe’s new knowledge platform—Digital Transformation Conference Stage.
On the other hand, the Smart Manufacturing exhibition area at the event spotlights intelligent and sustainable production. Spread across seven halls, global companies will showcase how state-of-the-art technologies, components, integrated Industrie 4.0 solutions, and artificial intelligence bolster the effectiveness and sustainability of production processes and being competitive. Apart from the exhibition, Hannover Messe features a high-caliber supporting program, including the popular Industrie 4.0 stage and the Motion & Drives conference stage in the Smart Manufacturing area.
Harnessing Energy for Industry’s Future
Under the theme ‘Energizing a Sustainable Industry’, the event will feature comprehensive solutions for industrial energy supply. The ‘Energy for Industry’ exhibition area, including Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE (Hall 13)—Europe's leading hydrogen event—will showcase the latest innovations in energy generation, management, distribution, and storage. International corporations, SMEs, and startups, including notable names like GP Joule, Wöhner, PreZero, and more, will demonstrate innovations addressing critical industry challenges.
The event emphasizes practical applications of sustainable energy technologies, from green hydrogen production to digital energy management systems. The Energy 4.0 Conference Stage, supported by leading German industry associations VDMA (German Engineering Federation), VDE (German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies), and ZVEI (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association), offers expert insights through keynotes and panel discussions.
Key focus areas include digitalization, decarbonization, energy efficiency, and resilience in industrial operations. The exhibition also features specialized sections for Compressed Air & Vacuum Technology (in its respective exhibition area, Hall 12), strategically positioned near the hydrogen displays to highlight industry synergies. Through its comprehensive program, Hannover Messe 2025 provides visitors with direct access to the latest technological solutions for sustainable industrial energy supply. Other exhibition areas include Engineered Parts & Solutions, Future Hub, and International Trade & Investment.
The event will also feature multiple conference stages and forums, including Digital Transformation Conference Stage for cross-industry dialogue, Industrie 4.0 Conference Stage for automation solutions, Energy 4.0 Conference Stage for energy supply innovations, 5G & Industrial Wireless Conference Stage, Industrial Security Circus Stage for IT/OT security discussions, and Industrial Startups Conference Stage for business founders.
In addition to RoboTalk—a stage for robot-assisted automation and logistics in industry, Embedded Systems & Solutions theme park, and Speakers Corner. Furthermore, the event celebrates women in STEM through the Engineer Woman and Young Engineer Woman Awards, emphasizing the importance of diversity in industrial innovation.
A Vision for Sustainable Industry
Hannover Messe 2025 arrives at a crucial time when global industrial competition is intensifying. With reindustrialization efforts in the U.S., export initiatives in China, and Europe's push toward sustainable and digital transformation, the event serves as a vital platform for shaping the future of industry.
The event promises to be a cornerstone for industrial innovation, fostering international collaboration and driving sustainable industrial transformation for years to come.
