The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) announced an online press conference on the new World Robotics 2020 report, scheduled to be on September 24, 2020, 13:00-14:30 CEST. Distinguished speakers from the Federation, such as Milton Guerry, President, IFR; Dr Susanne Bieller, General Secretary, IFR; Dr Christopher Müller, Statistical Department, IFR and Dr Werner Kraus, Vice-Chair, IFR Service Robot Group will discuss trending topics.
The reports are segregated to cover the topics of Industrial Robots (the global automation race in numbers), Service Robots (success story for professional and private use), and Robotic trends and new fields of application in the post-Corona economy.
With an increase of 12%, a total of 2.7 million industrial robots now operate in factories all over the world. Industrial production rapidly changes due to the ongoing automation trend and technical improvements. Many cutting-edge technologies like machine learning and Artificial Intelligence, IIOT, man-machine collaboration, and autonomous mobile systems relate to the field of robotics. Intelligent robots are the crucial part of digitalization of the manufacturing industry.
The world's manufacturing industry has major challenges, such as a rapidly evolving consumer trends, lack of resources, shortage of skilled workers, ageing population, and demand for local production. The solution to all these problems is flexible industrial robotic-based automation. World Robotics is studying and presenting profound statistical knowledge on the robotics industry. It is the key to the world of industrial robots and service robots.
More facts along with information about different continents' investment in the global automation race, the impact of trade conflicts, and service robots evolution will be shared in the upcoming online press conference. To be a part of the event you can reach out to Carsten Heer at press@ifr.org
