MEAI Ahmedabad Chapter Commemorates 28th Anniversary

The Ahmedabad Chapter of the Mining Engineers’ Association of India (MEAI) commemorated its 28th Foundation Day on June 14, 2024. Incepted in 1997, the Ahmedabad Chapter of MEAI has completed a momentous 27-year journey, setting benchmarks for the mining sector. Keeping the annual tradition on this occasion, a memorial lecture paying tribute to the Founder Chairman of the Chapter, Late B K Antia, was delivered by Rajnath Ram, Advisor (Energy), NITI Aayog, Govt of India, in the esteemed presence of S N Mathur, President, MEAI; L S Shekhawat, Vice-President (III), MEAI; and Swagat Ray, Chairman - Ahmedabad Chapter, along with other government officials, stakeholders, and council members of MEAI.

The memorial lecture was followed by a technical session focusing on Critical Minerals and the application of AI in the Mining Industry. The session aimed at providing professionals with state-of-the-art knowledge and advancements in these fields, guaranteeing that they stay ahead of industry trends and innovations.

After the memorial lecture and technical session, the Ahmedabad Chapter’s 28th Annual General Meeting was held, which featured the Chapter’s Annual Award function.
