Sandvik Coromant Indonesia, demonstrating its continued commitment to enhancing customer knowledge and skills, has delivered private training to valve manufacturer Teknologi Rekayasa Katup. The event took place at Teknologi Rekayasa Katup’s headquarters in Banten, Indonesia, and explored drilling and tapping methods. The event specifically focused on drilling and tapping methods, where metal cutting expert Sandvik Coromant advised on machining applications and tools to meet the customers machining requirements.
Around 13 Teknologi Rekayasa Katup employees attended the session, including operators, toolmen, administration, supervisors, managers, and programmers. Present from Sandvik Coromant were Djamal Harsja, Solid Round Tools Specialist; Januar Perdana, Account Portfolio Manager; and Rozaq Miftakhu, Application Specialist.
Delivering customer training enables Sandvik Coromant to form stronger relationships with its customers and provide them with the theory to understand metal cutting technology. This involves how to choose the right tools for different types of materials, processes, and machines; how to calculate cutting parameters from the formulas shared; and how to apply it in their production line. The company also provides online e-learning, so customers have instant access to training resources to help them better understand metal cutting.
“Engaging directly with customers is the most effective way to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance their processes,” said Harsja. “As we develop new technology and continually upgrade our offering, it’s imperative that our customers are up-to-date with the latest solutions. By doing so, Sandvik Coromant provides customers with the opportunity to learn and improve their processes.
Stressing that in such a competitive industry, learning new skills through training sessions like these is vital for customers to enhance their performance, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and boost their competitiveness, he further added. “We have already confirmed another training event with Teknologi Rekayasa Katup, which will focus on end milling.”
