Smart Manufacturing Summit 2024: A Global Gathering to Define the Future of Industry 5.0

GL events and Aichi Prefecture, the industrial capital of Japan, have teamed up to create the SMART MANUFACTURING SUMMIT by Global Industrie. This new trade event devoted to Industry 5.0 will include a high-level conference programme involving speakers from the worlds of research and industry, as well as representatives from European and Japanese government bodies, all of whom will play key roles in defining the industrial landscape of the future.

Moving towards the future: a three-day programme aimed at bringing two continents closer together to address the issue of tomorrow's industry. A series of high-level conferences, including tangible case studies, will take place over the course of three days. They will address a variety of subjects, including market expectations, the latest trends in Europe and Asia, partnerships and cooperation, international agreements and public-sector programmes to support business development.

The first day of the programme will focus on the objectives supported by both Europe and Japan, while the second day will give an insight into the different approaches to Smart Manufacturing in Europe and Japan. The programme of presentations and round-tables will give participants the opportunity to discuss and learn more about various strategic issues and potential areas of cooperation. The third day will be devoted to a more technical approach, with presentations about Industry 5.0 aimed at building a smart, sustainable future.

Speakers from both continents, all inspired by the subject of ‘the industry of the future’. Representing the private, public, and academic sectors, all the speakers are experts and decision-makers who have accepted the organizers’ invitation to share their views about the industry of the future and industrial cooperation between Japan and Europe, as well as the issues and challenges that must be met by tomorrow’s industry.

The speakers include: Nikolaus BOLTZE, Country Representative for Japan, South-Korea and Australia, thyssenkrupp, and President, EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation; Stéphane LAGUT, Global Advanced Manufacturing & Mobility Assurance Leader; Global Aerospace & Defense Sector Leader, EY; Akira SAKAINO, Director, Evangelist, Innovation Center / Smart Industry Taskforce, NTT Communications; Osamu TABATA, Vice President, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Kyoto University of Advanced Science; Guillaume DOURDIN, CEO and Representative Director, Veolia Japan; Keigo HAGA, Director, Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting; Kuni HORITA, President and CEO, Siemens Japan; Tatsuya YANAGIBASHI, Customer Chief Technology Officer, Nokia Japan; Sophie SIDOS, President, French Foreign Trade Advisors; and Vincent DUFOUR, SVP & Chief Representative, EDF Japan & South Korea.

During these three days of conferences, and during the Smart Manufacturing Summit by Global Industrie from March 13-15, 2024, all the European and Japanese players involved in ‘Industry 5.0’ are invited to come together at Aichi Sky Expo, the international exhibition center of Aichi Prefecture, to discuss and find answers to questions concerning industrial development, innovation, and cooperation.
