TAGMA India Elects President and Vice President at 32nd AGM

The Tool and Gauge Manufacturers Association of India (TAGMA) recently concluded its 32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), a significant event that featured the election of a dynamic new Executive Council. This year’s AGM was a platform for TAGMA members to engage in discussions about pivotal industry advancements, share invaluable insights, and unveil the much-anticipated ‘Indian Tooling Report’.

The highlight of this AGM was the election of TAGMA’s fresh Executive Council. Devaraya Manjunath Sheregar, Managing Director and Chairman, Devu Tools Pvt Ltd, has assumed the role of President, while D Shanmugasundaram, Managing Director, S&T Group, has been appointed as the Vice President for the term spanning from 2023-2026. Sheregar and Shanmugasundaram, both accomplished leaders, bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to advancing TAGMA’s objectives.

TAGMA India eagerly anticipates the transformative leadership of President Sheregar, with confidence that his tenure will usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for the association and its valued members. The newly elected members for the term 2023-2026 include Akshay Kalyanpur, Sridevi Tool Engineers Pvt Ltd; T S Gopalakrishnan, Multiple Special Steel Pvt Ltd; Raj Singh, Eqic Dies & Moulds Enggs Pvt Ltd; Sachin S Netrabyle, Magna Plastic Corporation; and Shijesh Kokkodan, Macpro Technologies Pvt Ltd.

In his acceptance speech, Sheregar expressed heartfelt gratitude for the trust bestowed upon him by TAGMA members and shared his inspiring vision for the association’s future. He underscored the paramount importance of innovation, collaboration, and industry growth, pledging unwavering dedication to promoting excellence in the tooling industry. Sheregar stated, “Today, as I take on the role of President of TAGMA India, I am excited about the immense opportunities that lie before us. Companies around the world are actively discussing investments in India, recognizing our nation's potential as a hub for innovation and manufacturing. To capitalize on this momentum, we must work collaboratively, focusing on skill development and tapping into the growing demands of our industry. Together, we can shape a bright future for tool and gauge manufacturing in India.”

Shanmugasundaram, speaking about new initiatives, expressed pride in being part of an organization that has made remarkable strides in nurturing the growth of Indian toolmakers. He elaborated, “In our previous term, we successfully launched several skill development initiatives that have contributed to the industry’s advancement. In this term, our focus remains on expanding our horizons. We will actively work on taking our delegation to various countries, forging global partnerships, and welcoming new members into our ever-growing TAGMA family. Together, we will continue to propel the Indian tool and gauge manufacturing sector to new heights.”
