WEISS India marks generational change as Sanjeebit Choudhury, former Vice President Asia Pacific and CEO, WEISS India, hands over the reins to Praveen Hosur. Choudhury has strongly influenced and driven the development of the automation specialist in the Asian region, which is headquartered in Buchen, Germany. Hosur, a sales and customer expert, is now taking over the management of the subsidiary in Pune, India. The automation specialist WEISS has been active in India since 2017 and has been successively expanding its activities since 2020.
Sanjeebit Choudhury joined WEISS in 2018 and has massively driven the development in the APAC region. Under his leadership, the company established the Solution Factory at its Indian headquarters in Pune in 2020. Customer-specific solutions and semi-standardized products are manufactured here, especially for the Indian market. The main assemblies of the rotary indexing tables, linear transfer systems, and other automation solutions are delivered from Germany to India, adapted to the region-specific conditions on site, and finished according to customer requirements.
In addition, Choudhury established the WIN Campus, a customer and education center for employees, business partners, and interested parties alike. Now the passionate manager who is recognized in the industry is leaving WEISS World for private reasons in order to retire. Previously, he actively accompanied the generational change in the top management.
“With Sanjeebit Choudhury, we knew we had a strong and committed colleague at our side. He has an excellent network within the industry, knows the market like no other, and has created an ideal breeding ground for the further development of WEISS. We would like to thank Choudhury for this, and we still feel a strong connection to him,” says Uwe Weiss, Owner and CEO, WEISS GmbH.
With Praveen Hosur, WEISS is now relying on a sales expert with a high level of customer focus. Hosur will continue to expand the core business in India on the existing basis. The internationally experienced manager explains: “For me and my team, we are now entering the next evolutionary stage, and we will focus on even greater customer proximity and more intensive market cultivation in the coming years.” The handover of responsibility for the Indian market and the subsidiary took place in mid-September as part of a Customer Day.
“It was important for us to celebrate this generational change together with our customers and partners, because Hosur will be an important contact person for them. With Hosur, we have gained the right person to successfully lead WEISS India into the future on the existing, stable foundation,“ says Weiss.
