Thin-film coating services provider, Ionbond (IHI Group), has introduced a new PVD/PACVD hybrid coating machine to its existing lineup of PVD coating machines at its West Chicago Coating Center. The new machine is ideal for depositing PVD Tribobond coatings (TB30, TB31 and TB33) and PVD/PACVD Tribobond DLC (diamond-like coating) coatings (TB40, TB41, TB42, and TB46). These coatings have improved the performance and lifetime of tools and components for customers with their high wear resistance, low coefficient of friction, chemical inertness, and high load-bearing capacity, in the aluminium forming, automotive, food packaging, and medical industries.
The West Chicago coating center has been a quality service provider for businesses in cutting tools, die-casting tools, forming tools, and aerospace components. The coating machines can coat parts up to 6000 lbs with multi-purpose coatings, and the company provides de-coating, polishing & pick-up, and delivery services as well. Adding the Tribobond portfolio will help the company overcome its existing and new customer challenges and evolving application needs.
It is able to cater to its customers’ coating needs from diverse markets because of its comprehensive coating portfolio. As Surface Engineers, the company partners with its customers to understand their application needs and deliver customized coating solutions, moreover the addition of the new coating platform is another facet of its commitment to these collaborations.
